- Music education runs on a staffing problem that never quite goes away. A teacher calls in sick and a studio needs a substitute for tomorrow. A school has an ongoing teaching role to fill. A busy term throws up more lessons than the regular staff can cover. Traditionally, filling these gaps meant working the phones and relying on word of mouth — slow, uncertain, and stressful for everyone involved. Our client set out to fix it with a platform built specifically for the industry.
- We engineered Music Teacher Connect as a dedicated job platform linking schools and studios with music teachers across Australia. Academies and studios post roles a last-minute substitute, an ongoing position, or short-term cover and music teachers browse and apply for the work that fits them. Built on a React.js/Next.js front end with a Node.js and TypeScript backend on PostgreSQL, the platform is engineered to make matching the right teacher to the right role seamless, secure and stress-free.
- The result is a purpose-built hiring platform for a niche the mainstream job boards ignore. Schools and studios get a fast, reliable way to fill teaching roles; music teachers get a single place to find work suited to their instrument and availability — turning a scramble of phone calls into a clean, self-service process built for the way music education actually staffs itself.
